It applies to the ekocamp.com website and to camp registrations.

1. Person in charge of the protection of personal information

Ekocamp's Vice-President is in charge of protecting personal information. Contact this person for any question, access or correction request, consent withdrawal or complaint:

2. Information we collect

When you browse the website

  • Only with your consent, statistics tools and advertising tools (for example Google Analytics and Google Ads) collect information about your visit: pages viewed, type of device and browser, approximate region and, if applicable, the ad your visit came from.
  • If you refuse, these tools set no cookies. Google may still receive signals without cookies, used only to estimate the overall performance of our ads.
  • Embedded maps and videos (for example Google Maps and YouTube) are shown only with your consent. These sites may then collect information under their own policies.
  • Our web host keeps technical logs (IP address, date and page requested) to keep the website secure and working properly.

When you contact us

If you write or call us, we use your name, contact details and the content of your message to answer you.

When you register a child

Registration is done on our online registration platform, reached through the “Registration form” buttons on the website. The information requested about the parent and the child is used to process the registration, organize the stay, look after the child's health and safety during camp, and communicate with the family.

3. Why we use this information

  • to answer your questions;
  • to process registrations and organize campers' stays;
  • with your consent, to measure website traffic to improve the site, and to measure how well our ads work;
  • to keep the website secure;
  • to comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

For residents of the European Union, our legal bases are: your consent (non-essential cookies), the performance of the registration contract, our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and answering your messages, and compliance with our legal obligations.

4. Cookies

A cookie is a small file stored on your device. We sort cookies into four categories:

  • Necessary: remember your cookie choices. Always on.
  • Analytics: statistics tools (for example Google Analytics).
  • Advertising: advertising tools (for example Google Ads).
  • Maps and videos: content embedded from other sites (for example Google Maps and YouTube).

Only necessary cookies are active without your consent. Other cookies are kept according to each tool's rules, usually from a few months to 2 years. Your choice is kept on your device for 6 months, then you are asked again.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the website and the camp: website hosting, registration platform, email and, with your consent, statistics and advertising tools. These providers may use the information only for the intended purposes. We may also disclose information when required by law.

Some of these providers store information outside Quebec and Canada, notably in the United States. Information may therefore be disclosed outside Quebec.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected, or longer if the law requires it (for example for our accounting records). It is then destroyed or anonymized.

7. Security

The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to personal information is limited to people who need it for their work. We take reasonable security measures suited to the sensitivity of the information.

8. Your rights

Depending on the laws that apply to you, you can notably:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
  • have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example to cookies;
  • ask us to delete your information or to stop disseminating it;
  • receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability);
  • object to certain processing or ask for it to be restricted (European Union residents).

To exercise these rights, write to the person in charge of the protection of personal information (section 1). We answer within 30 days.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (www.cai.gouv.qc.ca), the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (www.priv.gc.ca) or, if you live in the European Union, the data protection authority of your country.

9. Children

The website is intended for parents and legal guardians. A child must be registered by one of them. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 14 through this website.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
